22nd December 1927.

In accordance with your previous orders I was anchored

south of Tiger Island on the above date.

2. At 1250 S.S."KINSHAN" communicated with me and I proceeded

to Second Bar Creek.

3. At 1400 I stopped and embarked armed guard from A.P.C.

launch "YUET TUNG". Sub. Lieutenant Alexander informed me that a

launch had attempted to pirate a junk that morning and on his

interventi on had gone up a creek in Pottinger Island and run

a ground. She took with/the Junk proprietoress.

4. Whilst embarking armed guard H.M.3. "PETERSFIELD" arráveð

Six Chinese launches arrived at same time and spoke

They eventually returned up river without taking

any action. I proceeded to creek in Pottinger Island and landed

an armed party in motor sampan. About three miles up this creek

I found launch 2711, identified by Sub. Lieutenant Alexander as

the offender. The sole occupant of her endeavoured to escape

across the paddy. After warning and short fired over head he

was hit and captured.

5. Launch was then set on fire. I left her well alight, but

owing to falling tide and the fact that I had already gounded

the sampan going in, I could not wait for her complete destruction.

I stood by her for about 20 minutes and then returned to the ship.
